This project included the redesign of network topologies to include new services, larger environment, and room for growth. • Primary job requirements were to provide multiple, logically mirrored network environments for the software development teams. The network environments had to reflect the production network in order to facilitate smooth transition of software updates.• Responsible for running and reporting daily network stress results for targeted components to the Internet Media Services SQA lab. The SQA lab consisted of 300+ NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 servers in a routed network. Services supported in the SQA lab included WINS, DHCP, DNS, switching, routing, Alteon load balancing, Multihoming, and other networking technologies. • Worked closely with developers to find network software bugs or any related network performance issues, to record any such issues, communicate necessary changes to production teams, and take any approved production changes back to the lab environment for the next software rollout. • Performed daily network maintenance, monitoring, and support through the use of network monitoring applications, sniffer programs, and hardware testers.• Created OS images for various testing environments as well as maintain documentation for configuration standards.• Technology included Windows NT/2000, Cisco Catalyst switches with MFSC, Alteon systems, Cisco routers, Dell rack mount servers, and network associates sniffers.
