MENTAL HEALTH UNIT 2000-2003Administrative and clerical support to casework managers concerned with detained mental health patients subject to Hospital and Restriction Orders under sections 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act 1984.. Liaison with Prisons, Courts, Medium Secure Units and Special Hospitals to arrange visits by colleagues and obtain patient details as necessary.. Drafting of the Home Secretary's Statement for statutory Mental Health Review Tribunals. Issue of correspondence as directed by managers in relation to patient transfer, discharge or leave from Medium Secure Units and Special Hospitals. OFFICE OF SURVEILLANCE COMMISSIONERS 2003-2012Support to Inspectors, Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners by arranging travel, hotel accommodation and briefing documentation to support their visits to Government Departments, Police Forces and local Councils. These visits were to inspect and report on the management and authorisation of Covert Surveillance under the relevant legislation by the various bodies. OSC also had a role authorising certain activities which involved using secure communications.
