Drillcut supplies plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection materials to major clients at construction development sites on the eastern board of Australia.I currently have 2 Purchasing Officers report to me and I am responsible for the entire Procurement function reportable to the General Manager.I implemented Category Management Procurement to the Supply Chain function and each buyer is assigned specific product groups/suppliers. We developed 4 key pillars which would be critical to the role of each buyer.- Excess Stock (to identify which items were impacting stock-turn rates).- Surplus Orders (to react quickly to changes in demand).- Stock Out (to create an automatic alert for material stock-out).- Potential Stock Out (to identify projected stock-outs for immediate action). Each buyer was assigned a purchasing group number which allows us to measure each buyer’s stock-turn rate and backorder performance.I am also solely responsible for the planning, forecasting, ordering of up to 1,500 import materials. Supplier development is critical as well as acquiring knowledge of shipping documentation, and freight forwarding.I played a supporting role in achieving 1.2% savings to COGS during 2018.We also achieved 97.5% DIFOT on backordered items from Q4 2018 to now.During the COVID period, we consistently achieved backorder rates of less than 2% which was a pleasing achievement given the issues surrounding global freight and raw material shortages.I have re-negotiated fasteners supply contracts, import steel supply contracts, and waste disposal agreements achieving considerable savings to the business.

A listed company on the US stock exchange with an annual turnover of over 2.4USD billion, EnerSys manufactures and distributes reserve power, motive power batteries, power equipment, and outdoor equipment enclosure solutions to customers worldwide.During my time at Enersys, I was responsible for the sourcing, planning, and ordering of approximately 1,500 raw materials purchased through the Pronto system.I was also a key member of the CIP (Cost Improvement Program) which achieved $1.5M AUD in savings over 2 years through re-negotiation of existing supply and service agreements.I undertook project procurement for bespoke engineering solutions which consisted of sourcing materials to budgeted estimates, collaborating with engineering & sales teams, obtaining quotations for new products, monitoring project milestones and ensuring supply met with strict delivery deadlines.I helped design the supplier performance program which measured quality and on-time delivery to determine 1st/2nd tier preferred suppliers.

I was the sole Senior Buyer at CMP Controls P/L and I was responsible for the planning, negotiating, and ordering of up to 300 active raw materials used in the manufacturing operation as well as up to 100 trading goods materials.I was also responsible for the tendering of the Electricity and Gas contracts as well as contract management for all Transport Carrier contracts which involved both domestic and interstate customers.I combined the Senior Buyer role with the Warehouse Dispatch role which provided me with a valuable insight and exposure to the Warehousing/Logistics function in SAP.

My time at Tridonic Manufacturing P/L was very beneficial for my career development.Tridonic is one of the world’s largest electrical component manufacturer and suppliers within the lighting industry, as well as developing and offering LED technology and dimming systems. Tridonic is a member of the European stock market company Zumtobel AG, having an annual turnover of $1.6 Billion.I was responsible for the planning, negotiating, and ordering of up to 800 raw materials, 300 of which were imported from overseas.I was responsible for all supplier agreements which included JIT delivery agreements and I was also empowered to find new sources where necessary. I was the Contract Manager for the majority of Indirect contracts which included Electricity, Gas, Scrap Metal, Waste Disposal, Cleaning etc.I was the Project Manager for many Lean Six Sigma projects which included the implementation of JIT Kan-ban systems, outsourcing projects, as well as inventory control analysis all designed to improve efficiencies in the business and save costs.

Initially, I was performing basic functions such as placing purchase orders, negotiating prices with suppliers and running outstanding order reports.But in the next 2-3 years, I was promoted to Purchasing Co-ordinator position where I delegated work and consumable requisitions to 3 staff members.I was also the sub-project leader for the PP - Purchasing module of SAP (ERP) which we implemented in 2001. I conducted training sessions for up to 20 Supply Chain staff in both Melbourne and Sydney so that they could perform purchasing functions adequately in their day to day tasks. I have more than 10 years experience using SAP so my knowledge of SAP is extremely competent.
