CurrentUpskilling across the electrical industry see: https://www.electrical-ewa.org.uk/The Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) is for electricians who have been working in the industry for at least five years and who hold a recognised Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification but have not completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ. By gaining this qualification, candidates demonstrate they meet the occupational standards required by the Electrical industry, which can be a great launchpad for a range of careers and opportunities. The EWA is not suitable for new entrants to the industry, apprentices or other trainees who require any training, or for inexperienced operatives. Candidates must be able to provide evidence from site and witness testimonies of current work to fully meet the qualification. The EWA is a site-based qualification and does not require attendance at college; it is an assessment of competence and is mandatory for those who require JIB Gold Card status. If candidates have not achieved 18th Edition and Test & Inspection qualifications prior to enrolment, they will need to undertake these separately. The EWA is a self-driven qualification and requires candidates to be motivated to collect evidence from work they are doing onsite.The EWA is based upon:• Candidates existing qualifications and experience • Completion of a portfolio of your work evidence • Site based assessments to confirm your competence It is expected candidates will complete within 12 months. This is dependent on candidate’s experience and commitment. Individual support and guidance, tailored to meet the needs of each candidate is offered throughout the entire process.
