I am a software engineer with 3 years of experience and have skills in Agile software development and database systems. I have extensive volunteering experience and I am always willing to teach. This expanded into teaching my own class on C++ through my school’s Tech Team. The more coding, I did, the more I realized I enjoyed the act of coding itself, rather than just coding on videogames. With this newfound interest in both coding and working with people, a career in software engineering seemed like an obvious fit.While at MSOE, I had a great internship and California Eastern Labs where I Modified and completed an Android application for IoT residential service. I worked with a great team of industry vets who guided me and taught me a lot. For my senior design project, I worked with a team of Electrical Engineers to design and create a new antenna testing device for use by students and faculty at MSOE. It was a lot of fun working with students outside my discipline, and I learned a lot about the design process for hardware as well as software. For another project I worked on in class, I updated a current and non-functioning UML Diagram grading website used by faculty at MSOE to increase speed and functionality. My senior design project taught me to work with people outside my discipline and the UML Diagram project taught me a lot about the agile software development framework. When I volunteered in the Op Ed computer competition, it was extremely rewarding to see students I mentored grow to overcome the challenges they were presented with.
