Engineer officers command or assist in commanding engineer units consisting of Marines in various MOSs whose duties include repair, maintenance, and operation of engineer heavy equipment; construction, operation, and repair of structures and facilities; clearing and emplacing obstacles such as minefields; construction of bridges; using explosives for construction and demolition projects; using specialized demolitions for urban breaching; storage and distribution of bulk fuel products; installation, operation, and maintenance of utility systems.

Summary of Duties:Direct the cost, schedule, and performance of defense programs through strategy development, design, testing, manufacturing, training, and sustainment. Total acquisition cost of programs under direct management was $459M.Key Accomplishments:-Organized and led several product and matrix teams consisting of as many as 60 federal employees and contractors directly supporting one of 5 programs of record. -Identified creative, low risk opportunities to cut external support costs, achieving over $2M in cost savings in 2016 alone.-Led 9 civilians in rapidly rebaselining an original $1.8M Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (SUGV) 310 acquisition effort to include a revised requirement for 75 additional systems, initiating a new, $13M program of record.-Developed and maintained strong working relationships with end users, US Army program office counterparts, industry representatives and numerous other agencies. Became one of only a handful of Marine Corps subject matter experts on technological developments in countering and detecting explosive hazards.-Selected to represent the organization and present at several public engagement events, to include the 2015 Marine Week Phoenix, 2016 Marine Week Nashville, and events for House and Senate Armed Service Committee staff.

Summary of Duties-Served as the current and future operations officer for the company which included duties such as planning overarching training strategies, ensuring readiness for unit and individual deployments, coordinating company participation in theater security cooperation exercises and directing daily administrative functions of the company office.Key Accomplishments-Conducted administrative coordination with external organizations and oversaw thepreparatory training for the successful deployment of 4 individual augments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, 2 engineer platoons in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, 1 platoon in support of Infantry Training Exercise 14-6, and 1 squad in support of Landing Force-Carat.-Directed the creation, planning, and execution of an enhanced company predeployment training program which was successfully completed by a platoon assigned to support the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.-Coordinated, planned, and supervised a 12-day company field exercise for 125 Marines whichincluded 6 live-fire ranges.-Coordinated and tracked personnel and equipment augments in support of 9 Theater SecurityCooperation Exercises including Landing Force-Carat, Korean Military Exchange Programs,Artillery Relocation Training Programs, and Ulchi Freedom Guardian.-Created a comprehensive company training Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that included the implementation of the Marine Corps Training Information Management System.-Mentored 7 junior lieutenants on leadership, platoon commander responsibilities, and developing/ writing effective training plans.

Summary of Duties:-Manage, direct, and supervise all current operations and maintain situation awareness of all significant events that occur within the Joint Operations Area.-Lead and supervise all Joint Operations Center (JOC) activities, ensuring JOC personnel are able to respond to operational developments, support current operations, rapidly deploy intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and plan for all future operations.-Develop Operation Orders, Annexes, Concepts of Operation, and Fragmentary Orders in support of bilateral and joint counterterrorism operations.Accomplishments:-Ensured missions were properly planned, coordinated, and executed in accordance with the command’s concept of operations, providing vital situational awareness to the Commanding Officer and Philippine Security Forces.-As the central communication node of the task force, passed instructions and guidance and gathered information from forces on the ground enabling 500+ ground and seaborne movements, 2,000+ flights, and multiple named operations all supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM-PHILIPPINES (OEF-P)-Restructured and led tri-weekly operational briefs to supervisor-level staff throughout the organization; opened communication lines, unified interdepartmental efforts, and improved organizational goal alignment.-Selected to represent the Director of Operations in the US Embassy Manila for 2 months; liaised with the US Country Team, obtained diplomatic clearances, and secured host nation approval for multiple operations.-Managed the US humanitarian response to Typhoon Bopha, enabling over 350 tons of relief supplies to be flown into the area. Tasked maritime and air support in a 7-day search and recovery mission, scanning over 25,000 square nautical miles.
