In August of 2014 I took on the role of Director of Quality and shortly after volunteered to lead the Program Management office on an interim basis. In January of 2020, the Program Management function transitioned to a member of my team.Accomplishments as Director of Quality include:• Led transition of Quality Management System to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015• Implemented an 8-Discipline focus activity resulting in 50% reduction in open issues, shortened duration to closure, expansion of application of 8-D to internal quality issues• Led a small team to concentrate on change management issues resulting in 60% reduction in open issues, enhanced customer satisfaction• Enhanced Quality Engineering contribution to product development activities• Became responsible for all phases of warranty including, return management, analysis, and corrective action, claim processing, and warranty negotiation• Instrumental in resolution of a warranty issue preventing more than $1M in costs to the company• Instrumental in negotiation of a supplier quality issue securing $350k in compensation• Establishment of a formal Supplier Quality function

In August of 2005, I transitioned to the role of Project Manager to lead and facilitate the design and development process for major product launches. I was instrumental in developing the process for Medallion Instrumentation Systems which is based on the AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning manual and recommendations. Concurrent to leading the implementation of a formalized product launch system, I was and continue to be responsible for leading specific product development projects from conception through launch. Product launch activities at Medallion have steadily increased from 5 projects in 2005 to more than 30 launches progressing in 2008. My responsibilities included the management of 50% of all launch programs. In this role, I was instrumental in advancing and completing an early concept program with Harley-Davidson which ultimately led to an award of a production contract worth potentially $5M in annual revenue.

I joined Medallion Instrumentation Systems in 2002 in the role of Quality Engineer reporting to the Plant Operations Manager. Beyond typical Quality Engineering functions my responsibilities included a focus on warranty reduction. Efforts made resulted in a 50% reduction in annual warranty expense. Shortly after joining Medallion, I was promoted into the role of Quality Manager taking responsibility for the leadership of the Quality team. While in this role, I led the transition from QS-9000 to ISO 9001 and successful registration to this new standard.

LDI is a manufacturer of motorized actuators and magnetic solenoids for automotive applications. LDI’s primary customers include Delphi Interiors, Delphi Emissions, GHSP, Dura Automotive, and Visteon. As the quality engineer for LDI, I provided a wide range of services including PPAP, Process Controls Development, APQP project support, supplier development, expertise in SPC and corrective action, and eventually served as the Management Representative for QS-9000. Additionally, I had supervisory responsibility for the metrology and engineering test laboratories.

Acutex is an original equipment manufacturer of transmission control solenoids and modules for automotive applications. Acutex’ primary customers include General Motors, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Renault and VCST. I held many positions within the quality department at Acutex including Receiving Inspector, Quality Technician, Quality Analyst, Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer and ultimately Quality Department Supervisor. During my tenure at Acutex, I gained experience in all areas of quality assurance and led the process quality support group.
