My primary mission was to assist the 14TH Iraqi Army Division third line Maintenance Workshop in training their mechanics, inspectors, and production control clerks in maintenance operations. Within a month of my arrival I was assigned to the Logistical Transition and Training Team (LTAT) as a subject matter expert for maintenance operations. I worked daily with a team of US Army Soldiers training the Iraqi soldiers at the 14TH Iraqi Army Division third line Maintenance Workshop as a mentor and advisor on training. I made a significant impact by meeting every request for assistance from the LTAT members and often advising the Iraqi soldiers on vehicle repairs. I also was a liaison/advisor with the Maintenance Workshop Commander and his staff officers on life support issues. Living quarters, water for personal hygiene, food preparation areas, dining areas, bathroom and bathing facilities, and maintenance work areas were some of the problems I helped advise and offer assistance on. I delivered and then taught the use of computer based repair manuals for the American made Vehicles the Maintenance Workshop repairs.
