30+ years in manufacturing. 8 years as a toolmaker manufacturing plastic injection molds. CAD/CAM, manual mill, lathe. CNC, surface grinder, tool and cutter grinder, EDM. 10 years as a laser technician and another 10 as manufacturing lead. I’ve worked with ESI and IPG lasers for via drilling, thin film ablation and micro machining a vast array of substrates. Including copper clad flex material, polymers, ceramics, FR4, adhesives and various thin films. In the last few years I joined the engineering team and I am currently a Project Engineer I at a high density flex circuit manufacturer. We specialize in difficult to build designs for medical devices, flex circuits, probe cards, and other electronic devices. The role of my team is to assist sales in quoting designs, DFM, consulting customers, creating stack ups and defining spec limits. Once a quote is accepted and an order is placed my team works with Process Engineering to develop a process flow, create routing and assist production with training, documentation and process improvement. Additionally, we support Quality Assurance to ensure customer satisfaction and to troubleshoot process deviations. I love challenges and working with teammates to make sure everyone continues to grow while maintaining a shared vision of continuous improvement.
