I started my career as a volunteer firefighter in 1984 when I joined the New Hyde Park FD as a firefighter with Estates Engine Co.#3 where I served for just under 8 years until I got married and moved out of the district. After moving to East Meadow I again joined the ranks of Nassau's bravest and joined the East Meadow FD, being assigned to Engine 4. I served with Engine 4 for 8 years, I resigned when my daughter was born and had some medical issue. After 2 1/2 years her condition improved and I re-joined the East Meadow FD, this time becoming a member of Hook & Ladder Co. #1 in 1996 and have served as 2nd Lt, 1st Lt, and Captain. I have served as an EMT, EMT-CC, Capt. of the 6199 (fire-medic squad), chairman of multiple department committees, and advisor to our Junior fire company and possess numerous certifications from the Nassau County FSA, NYS Fire Academy, and the National Fire Academy.
