I am a Pharmaceutical Industry professional with experience in early medicine development, clinical research, medical affairs and health outcomes. I am passionate about the seamless integration of medicine and value-based evidence development, leading to appropriate and timely patient access to treatment. Our industry epitomises innovation as we strive to advance the scientific understanding of pathologies and translate this into therapy which contributes to valuable individual and societal health gains.I also have a strong interest in developing people in line with their strengths to make them better professionals and leaders in their own right. Additionally I have an interest in organisational structures and systems, and associated processes and their design, to facilitate the medical role and it's contribution to making medicines available to the treaters and their patients within an increasingly challenging healthcare framework. My background is summarised below: Following a post-doctoral career in medical research I joined the pharmaceutical industry with Glaxo Wellcome in 1998. I spent 4 years working as a medical affairs specialist in anti-infectives and HIV during which time I moved to London in a global Medical Affairs role with GSK (2000 - 2003). I then moved to Sydney for 6 years with Sanofi-Aventis and later Roche-Genentech working across the psychiatry, cardiology and oncology therapeutic areas as Senior and then Group Medical Manager. I moved back to Melbourne in 2009 with GSK becoming the Associate Medical Director for Specialised Medicines and Oncology. Since August 2013, I then moved to the role of Head of Reimbursement and Pricing at GSK Australia and have now taken up the role of Market Access and Medical Director at Eisai Australia where we are establishing the company, building a committed and passionate team and ensuring timely and appropriate access to Eisai's important medicines.
