Responsible for design, engineering, installation, and operations of DWDM, SONET, Resilient Packet Ring, and Carrier Ethernet infrastructure which comprises the County’s backbone network, operating through more than 200km of fiber. ● Reconfigured existing DWDM Network to accommodate a new major data center to support total location failover for both the Core Routing Network and the 911 Public Safety network● Replaced SONET ring infrastructures with Carrier Ethernet Rings (G.8032) eliminating TDM circuits● Implement new Packet Optical Network to increase Transport bandwidth between the 3 Major Data Centers to 100Gbps wavelengths Design and implement Core Routing and Data Center Bridging technologies across 3 Major Data Centers using Shortest Path Bridging.● Reduced number of Core Routing sites from 9 to 3 reducing overall complexity and equipment needs resulting in large savings of both capital outlay and operating expensesDesign and implement Campus Switching Infrastructures and their associated WAN connectivity across a wide variance of available options choosing the best-fit based on business needs and associated costs.● L2/L3 implementations traversing County owned/operated DWDM, Resilient Packet Ring, Carrier Ethernet, Point-to-Point Radios, or Leased Lines (DSL, Metro_E, ASE, dark fiber)● Implemented Co-Location program assisting other government customers in taking advantage of secure and resilient data center facilities to deploy their own network and/or server infrastructure with the available option of utilizing redundant circuits to other major County locations

Manage and engineer DWDM, SONET, Resilient Packet Ring, and Wireless WAN projects for the Enterprise Technology Services Department● Orchestrated and implemented cutover of existing TDM and Ethernet backhaul circuits to a converged IP Infrastructure● Designed and implemented backhaul channels for geo-distributed Storage Area Networks - Fiber Channel and FICON● Added Network Nodes as a Co-Located presence at Major Network Access Point to take advantage of Internet Services backed my multiple Tier 1 providers● Acted as Department Coordinator at the Emergency Operations Center to address planning and issue response during activation for hurricanes and other critical eventsInterfaced with various departments to develop business cases for new projects by taking various vendors suggested solutions into consideration and completing return on investment analysis for comparison by Senior Management.

End to end management of Optical/SONET/DWDM and AccessNode projects for national accounts. Constructed project plans, ensured availability of resources with the correct skills, maintained action registers, ensured milestones/deliverables were met, while reducing costs/schedule impacts, maintained the scope of work, initiated change orders, and monitored the supply chain.
