After serving as an Associate Dean in the UNH College of Health and Human Services for two years, I transitioned to a new position and now serve as the Director of External Relations. I work with Dean Mike Ferrera to develop and enhance relationships with public, private, and nonprofit sector leaders to promote innovative solutions to improve the health care and health of individuals, families, and communities. I also teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nonprofit management and leadership. Prior to joining the College, I served as the founding president of New Futures, a nonprofit advocacy organization focusing on reducing the impact of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug problems in New Hampshire. During my tenure at New Futuures (1997 to 2010) I also served on two Robert Wood Johnson Foundation National Advisory Committees (Reclaiming Futures and Local Funding Partnership Program) and the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits Board of Directors. I've been fortunate to enjoy a broad range of professional roles, including national and international health care consulting, higher education appointments in Texas and Virginia, and community-based substance abuse prevention and treatment programs.
