Performs other tasks as required.As a Family Interventionist, I am responsible for coordinating and running three classes presented to over 50 families over the course of the next three months. The classes are 14 weeks each at 2 hours a week. Presented in the popular education format, the courses are all in Spanish and given to parents who are farmworkers and one qualifying child from each family. Topics ranging from acculturation stress to communication and problem solving to limit setting and discipline are covered with the expressed purpose of learning to manage stress within the family dynamic. Participants have homework each week and are encouraged to share their personal experiences that relate to already existent cultural norms and habits that they learn to recognize as strengths and values which help to promote health in their families.

Conduct home assessments for appropriate temporary placement. Monitor and document progress for eventual reunification. Assist tribal members with inpatient placement for addiction, assist members with any resources to do with domestic violence and therapeutic services. Ongoing case conferencing with providers working in tandem to help clients with court ordered plans. Attend mandatory and other trainings to improve knowledge and best practices in child welfare in Native culture.
