• Developed and motivated a team of 12 credit risk professionals with coverage of all US CRE deal flow – supported a stable and loyal team, led by three team leaders• Product coverage included CMBS, Special Situations & NPLs, Construction & Transitional loans, Repurchase Facilities, Real Estate Investment Banking, Tax-exempt Bond financing, a DUS platform (DBBM) and derivatives• Performed an integral role in developing DB’s CRE Risk Appetite Statement, CRE Policy and Procedure Guide and the monthly CRE Portfolio Report - all distributed to senior management and US and European regulators• In conjunction with Risk & Model Analytics developed and approved stress test models for CCAR and DFAST as well as updated and enhanced rating criteria and methodologies• Ensured effective compliance with all US relevant regulations and policies, approved responses to all internal and external audit queries, proposed and implemented actions plans and control frameworks for MRAs and MRIAs• Refined strategies for steering the US CRE portfolio and approved and monitored all de-risking strategies for CMBS, senior loan syndications and subordinate/mezzanine debt• Instilled and supported a strong credit/underwriting culture resulting in non-material credit losses since 2010• Managed CRE Watch List process across multiple portfolios, ensured consistent application of FED classifications, DB internal ratings, impairment testing and annual provisioning forecasts• Monitored the Credit Risk Escalation Triggers with respect to the Risk Appetite Statement and communicated potential or actual breaches to the front office and senior risk management, as necessary• Voting member and alternate Chair on DB’s CRE Underwriting and Credit Committees• Effectively oversaw credit approval for annual loan origination exceeding $30.0m (300 to 400 individual credits)• Monitored and approved on-going asset management for a diverse $28.0bn portfolio containing 450 counterparties
