General Manager
Octobachi Asian Gastropub
119 Spring St., Charleston, Sc 29403
I was responsible for maintaining Octobachi’s inventory. I monitored the amount of product we had at any time and placed orders with our various vendors. I also ran cost comparisons to determine most cost-effective means of product procurement. As I was responsible for getting our products at the best price, I was also responsible for getting the best products, and in this I was very successful. By ordering beer from small breweries around the country, I had helped give Octobachi a reputation as one of the best places to get a beer in Charleston.I was able to use my business skills in my capacity as General Manager to help keep the business profitable. I have hosted a number of events at the restaurant to draw in business, featuring live music and beer tastings. I also advertised our specials and events on social media, and have acquired an active following in the process.I also made all HR decisions at Octobachi: interviewing and hiring new staff, paying payroll; and writing up, suspending, or terminating employees. I also scheduled employees and dealt with any internal complaints.
