Install cathodic protection systems, reference electrodes, junction boxes, cables, and rectifiers. Attach cables to structure via thermite welding. Perform cathodic protection potential surveys. Install, configure, and remove rectifier interrupters. Test, troubleshoot, and repair cathodic protection rectifiers. Operate electronic pipe locators. Install/Survey AC Mitigation systems.Be familiar with common computer applications, including Microsoft Office. Monitor subcontractor performance, resolving installation issues and conflicts. The Instructor in the Paint and Coatings Technology Program is responsible for teaching courses designed to offer the student an opportunity to learn the basic knowledge andproper application of protective coating systems, protection of various surfaces, and theprevention of corrosion and other surface deterioration. The program covers surfacepreparation (hand tool preparation, power tool cleaning, and sand blasting), application ofarchitectural coatings (coverings for attractiveness), and protective coatings (coverings toprotect wood, metal, and concrete surfaces from deterioration). Students also learn tolayout and paint signs, mix colors, prepare surfaces, and apply wall coverings. Instructional duties encompass classroom lecturing, developing andupdating curriculum, conducting regular testing and evaluation of student progress, issuingnecessary syllabi and course outlines, and supervising student workers in selected campusconstruction and maintenance projects. Encouraged to assist students in adjusting tothe established disciplinary standards and in internalizing the vital moral and ethical valuesemphasized at Williamson.
