Head the Economic Development and Regeneration service area of theAuthority; incorporating the Asset Management and Major Projects and Enterprise teams.Responsibilities include leading the delivery of the Council's capital programme, managing and enhancing the Authority's commercial investment portfolio, and delivery of expert investment support to businesses; including the Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone.

• Lead and manage a team of professional officers to deliver a diverse range of capital and enterprise regeneration programmes and projects, which are of priority to Northampton Borough Council.- To lead on the delivery of key sites and projects within Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone.• Take responsibility for the team’s delivery of key strategic programmes and projects and ensure robust performance management to Members, SMT, Government Departments and Funders. • Provide strategic support in terms of formulation and implementation of policy leading to new programmes and projects, working with funders and external partners as necessary.• Be the responsible budget manager for the Major Projects and the EZ revenue budgets and various capital budgets.• Strategic input into formulation and implementation of policy leading to new projects or programmes.• Deputise as necessary for the Head of Service and attend DMT as necessary.• Take the lead on economic strategy and all liaison with the LEPs and funding partners. • Provide high quality briefings and performance management reports where required to senior managers and Members.• Provide strategic support in terms of formulation and implementation of policy leading to new services to business, working with funders and external partners as necessary.• Support other service and operational functions within the Council in the delivery of their services.• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team and promote the highest professional standards and CPD.

To deliver outstanding business investor support throughout Northampton Borough and the Waterside Enterprise Zone.Ensure all investment enquiries are logged and managed appropriately.Provide regular reports to management and Members regarding business and investment activity.To manage business growth support, including the Business Incentive Schemem; a core funded £500k grants based business support programme.Develop and build relationships with the private sector through targeted business engagement initiatives.Ensure healthy working relationships with LEP's and other partner organisations.Develop bids for external project funding; including GPF, LGF and other economic development funding streams as appropriate.

Lead the Economic Development function of the Council:Ensure the Council’s Economic Development priorities are delivered.Design and implement projects in the areas of business advice, profile enhancement, inward investment and town centre vitality.Enhance the town’s USP through events and PR projects.Maintain and build on working relationships with the private sector; including attending and presenting at business eventsChair the Economy and Enterprise theme group of the Local Strategic partnershipProvision of expert advice to senior officers and also Members.Devise polices and objectives to maintain the vibrancy of the town centre.Development of Inward Investment strategies.Work with colleagues in the sub region and region on projects and documents.Feed local economic priorities into the Local Development Framework.
