Working with contractors I adopt a collaborative approach, firmly embedding the contractor’s managers in my own team and set a culture of open communication and partnership. I deal with poor performance in a way that prevents reoccurrence rather than to assign blame. The contractor is set clear objectives and is monitored to improve performance whilst retaining a tight rein on costs.
