I was selected to develop a strong high performing team of senior leaders overseeing a large and diverse area of responsibility which included: Corporate and Strategic Planning; Corporate Project Management Office; Corporate Facilities Operations; Corporate Security; Special Investigations Unit for Claims and Driver Licensing; Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management Office; Warehouse Operations; and Print & Mail Distribution Services.As a valued member of the Extended Executive, I was appointed on multiple committees including the Corporate Initiative Prioritization Committee, Issues Advisory Committee, Supplier Conduct Committee, Benefits Measurement Committee, Executive Environment and Safety Committee and Vancouver Board of Trade.In this role I was accountable for delivering on key corporate and government priorities, including the development of a corporate Fraud Strategy and implementation of a fraud analytics tool, a new Material Damage estimating platform, and various high profile strategic sourcing initiatives for the Claims division. I oversaw a key component of the Rate Affordability Action Plan led by the Ministry of Attorney General for Material Damage supplier programs where I managed to gain the support and prioritization required to revitalize ICBC’s programs and deliver significant cost savings for customers.

I was appointed this role to oversee Claims strategy development, manage all health and investigative supplier programs, and lead the special investigations unit responsible for all claims fraud investigations. I successfully developed improved supplier agreements, enhanced supplier relationships, and procured preferred suppliers to support claims handling and operations. I cultivated a strong, motivated team of qualified leaders along with new process advisor roles to streamline and automate processes, identify cost savings, and enable claims operations with continued business improvement and systems support. My team was also accountable for collecting and delivering all content relating to the Claims division for high profile regulatory reporting to the British Columbia Utilities Commission.

I was hand-picked to lead the implementation of the new claims management system, Guidewire ClaimCenter, a critical component of a multi-year journey known as the Transformation Program.With a budget of $120 million, this was the most complex and integrated claims business and system renewal effort in ICBC’s history. In my role as the Business Sponsor, I oversaw three project teams (business model, system solution, and document/content management) from project inception through to implementation and transition to operations and regularly reported to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors on progress, risks, successes and next steps.In 2014 the project was successfully implemented, within approved timelines and budget, and the Guidewire ClaimCenter implementation continues to be one of ICBC’s largest successes to date.

I was hand-selected to lead the research, requirements gathering and business casing of a new claims management system, which was approved by Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors. As the Business Sponsor, I oversaw the procurement process, including complex vendor contract negotiations and vendor selection, resulting in a signed contract with Guidewire ClaimCenter, a key enabler for ICBC’s Transformation Program.
