As of December 2023 appointed a member of the Council of Elders Aged Care within the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care, for a term of two years.As a Grit and Resilience Consortium SIAG community partner (and from October1 2024, CoChair) I am part of a growing network of community led consortiums at the Local Government Area level, supported by the state government in Victoria to address issues of social cohesion and community wellbeing.I have a Doctor of Theology degree with a focus on the Anglican Church of Australia national constitutional structure. Upon retirement in 2015 I was made Archdeacon Emeritus in the Diocese of Wangaratta. I was involved as a committee member of Voices for Indi, a trail-blazing grassroots movement advocating for participatory democracy and effective regional parliamentary representation from 2013 till April 2024 including a term as president. I bring to the table my experience as teacher, historian, author, Anglican priest for 45 years. I bring my advocacy, particularly for palliative and aged care and for the LGBTIQ+ communities. I bring my interactions with the health and aged care system from the perspective of regional Australia, as an older person.
