Responsible for leading the Contracts & Procurement team in supporting the development of mega projects across Asia, Central Asia and Russia from concept through pre-feasibility, feasibility, execution and close-out.Projects involve the production of energy through hydro, geothermal, solar and wind so as to produce green energy for domestic and export markets

Responsibilities include:► Providing Commercial advice to CUEL Board, Executive Management and Project Management;► Managing Project Prime Contracts, Subcontracts and Claims - projects include: - Bahrain LNG Regasification Platform (Bahrain) - JDN Formosa Wind Farm (Taiwan) - CPOC Phase 4 Offshore Project (Thailand and Malaysia) - Beaumont Light Atmospheric Distillation Expansion Project (Texas, USA)► Leading dispute resolution including the management of mediations, arbitration proceedings and managing external legal counsel and delay, quantum and technical experts► Reviewing and negotiating client Prime Contract tender terms and conditions;► Development and refinement of Contracting procedures and processes;► Delivery of training in Contract Awareness and Management, Claims Awareness and Avoidance and Negotiation.

Responsible for:► The management of claims between Inpex and their EPC Contractor JKC (JV between JGC, KBR and Chiyoda) as well as all reimbursable Subcontractors (ie majority of Project Site Subcontractors)► The provision of Contracts and Claims (avoidance and resolution) advice to the INPEX project management team► Reviewing all correspondence between Inpex and JKC to identify emerging issues and risks and drafting responses on high risk and/or claims letters Key achievements include:► Claims Management – Successfully leading the analysis, interpretation, strategy development, negotiation and close-out in defending a broad range of Contract and Subcontract claims valued at up to USD$750M, eg preferential design, delay and disruption, misleading and deceptive conduct, variations, EOT, prolongation, acceleration► Dispute Resolution – Supporting internal and external Legal teams in preparing successful responses for statutory adjudications, arbitrations and other contentious matters

Responsible for managing and overseeing contracts valued at US$4bn+ including:►The ‘Overseas’ Prime Contract (covering the three module yards) with the Project EPC Contractor Bechtel; ►The three EPC subcontracts with the module fabricators across China (Tianjin), Malaysia (Lumut) and Indonesia (Batam); and►A broad range of supporting subcontracts including grillage fabrication, dimensional control, flange management, QS services, weighing and loadout.Key achievements include:✔Commercial Management – Developing, recommending and implementing commercial initiatives to successfully address key project cost and schedule risks including Subcontractor performance deficiencies, de-scoping and awarding scope to alternate module yards, and craft resource constraints - amending commercial models including introducing performance incentives;✔Claims Management – Leading the management and resolution of a broad range of Prime EPC Contract and subcontract claims with claim values up to USD$350M;✔Contract Management – Training the Chevron team of 200+ personnel across each of the three module yard locations in ‘Contract Awareness’ and ‘Claims Avoidance’.- Ensured compliance with contractual obligations as well as the avoidance of claims

Seconded to the Foster Wheeler Worley Parsons JV initially as Contracts Lead responsible for leading a team in tendering and awarding major subcontracts valued at AUD$2B across a range of disciplines. ►Subsequently relocated to Site and was promoted to Contracts Manager, provided leadership to the EPCM Contracts team of approx. 30 personnel, and managed all Process Train and Product Loading Facility contracts including civils, mechanical, E&I, P&I and scaffolding valued +AUD$2bn.Key achievements included:✔Led a commercial, legal and risk review of the client’s Project templates including terms and conditions and obtained client endorsement to implement the recommendations across the Project;✔Delivered successfully on the Project cost and schedule objectives of all subcontracts across different disciplines, managing tender and contract strategy development through to subcontract close-out;✔Achieved outcomes below the settlement value recommended by both in-house and external Legal advisors on a broad range of subcontract claims up to AUD$25m;✔Developed, recommended and implemented commercial initiatives to ensure schedule and cost compliance and address poor contractor performance (including scope re-allocations, introduction of alternate contractors and changes to commercial models).
