In this role I was responsible for the servicing, calibration and repair of balances, scales and moisture analysers to a UKAS accreditation, which I have been observed and assessed by a UKAS Auditor, and passed as competent. Other experience includes minimum weight tests, weight comparison checks, calibration of platform scales, silo's, tanks, inline weighing systems, Torque meters, dial gauges. also Liaising with customers and site contacts.

Within this role I was responsible for the supervision of junior laboratory staff, Training of new staff, carrying out tests to the relevant british standard (full scope of testing available), working in conjunction with the ISO 9001 quality management system and the ISO 14001 environmental management system in place, The checking and reporting of results, liaising with customers and site management providing technical support, involvement with the expansion of the laboratory and the initial setup of the UKAS accreditation, creating test methods for the quality manual and deputising for the laboratory manager in times of absence. I was also responsible for the environmental monitoring of the company quarry which involved gas monitoring, leachate testing, groundwater testing and background noise monitoring.
