I worked to research and analyze the energy footprint of top websites and IT companies for a report that benchmarks the progress or lack of progress companies have made toward becoming powered by renewable energy. I am a coauthor on the 2017 report.

I worked on several projects related to this campaign including work with a strong coalition in Seattle focused on pressuring Shell Oil's fleet in Elliot Bay, including a massive flotilla of kayaktivists that garnered local, national, and international media attention. I was part of several lawsuits regarding threatened species and arctic drilling. In the final weeks in office, President Obama finally took the action we had been calling for - canceling the proposed sale of leases in the US Arctic ocean for oil and gas, and putting the US Arctic off-limits to oil and gas drilling using his authority under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act.

Chemical facilities all over the US pose a catastrophic threat to their local communities, but they could be using safer technologies. I successfully organized in Southern Vermont to get the Vermont State Senate to vote against the re-licencing of Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant. The plant officially closed on December 29, 2014.

Elmira, Ny And Raleigh, Nc

I built and grew a volunteer network across the 29th congressional district of NY (now redrawn) to pressure candidates for Congress to improve their platform on climate change during the 2008 election cycle. In North Carolina I worked in coalitions of environmental organizations to build support for the Waxman-Markey climate bill and to stop the expansion of Duke Energy's Cliffside Coal Plant.
