I am an experienced trial lawyer with over 30 years experience trying a variety of business and personal injury lawsuits. A great deal of my trial experience came as a result of being National Trial Counsel for a large national insurance carrier, which required admission in dozens of other state district and federal courts- trying cases of disputed liability and/or significant exposure. During the first part of my career I primarily worked on the defense side. I was then asked to join a very successful firm that did only contingent fee work on the plaintiff's side-first working up and trying medical malpractice cases and later working on tax shelter cases against accounting firms, law firms and banks, as well as, cases against insurance companies.After settling a significant number of tax shelter cases in 2006 and 2007, I left to start my own firm. One of the more interesting cases that I handled after starting my own firm was supervising and overseeing a lawsuit filed by a New York firm with whom I worked against the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC and two world-renowned art experts on Soutine (a famous Russian impressionist). The lawsuit resulted in a settlement and return to my clients of a famous Soutine painting-Le Boeuf (Piece of Beef) now estimated to be worth over $30 million . To my knowledge, this is the first time the National Gallery of Art has deaccessioned a privately-acquired non-Holocaust painting. My practice now includes a variety of business and landlord-tenant disputes, oil and gas litigation, construction cases and select personal injury matters, as well as handling appeals. I have also completed mediation training and now serve as a mediator at Burdin Mediation in Dallas, Texas.
