Office Assistant/Receptionist
As the Office Assistant/Receptionist for the Washington Legislative Office (WLO) of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), I served a critical administrative role. I coordinated incoming communication to the WLO and connected inquiries with appropriate staff members. I maintained staff and inner office directories in an efficient manner. I also contacted grant makers to ascertain potential philanthropic arms willing to fund various projects. I also used Twitter, Facebook, and other forms of social media to circulate news briefs and relevant stories.This job taught me how to balance multiple projects with different deadlines, how to comprehensively analyze important issues of constitutional law, how to respond to and circulate important news articles and stories, and the importance of time management and project development.
