I am a happy manager of people and technical analyses with a mathematical background. I like analysing, simplifying, optimising and leading in the water industry. I'm trying my best to be an environmentally decent person, minimise my footprint, investing locally and I've learned about non profit business as director for a local food co-op.I push to be proactive and reactive with the optimisation of water network management, from source to tap. I enjoy getting in the way of over-spending and I like to explore my interpretation of regulatory commitments which can help find better, affordable solutions.Right now my teams and I work to deliver network analysis across Northumbrian, Essex and Suffolk water networks. I enjoy technical management and the responsibility for incident support, dialing up to manage and down to analyse, to minimise the negative impacts of a crisis. My experience in water includes technical leadership and direction of leakage analysis, strategy and control, demand management, water efficiency and pressure management. I have enjoyed setting up initial tactical planning of NWG's water network performance for Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODI) focusing on interruptions to supply, low pressure, leakage, bursts and water abstraction. I reckon I'm alright at optimisation of the network, finding cost efficiency through production planning, I make sure we're considerate to water resources when we look to achieve all our water ODIs.From a BSc(hons) in mathematics came an interest in utility engineering. Analytical consultancy roles provided valuable and varied experience in water and waste water, as well as a good understanding for software development and the difficulties of learning, or changing hydraulic modelling software and maintaining models.I promote the difference between familiarity and expertise, with a genuine commitment for sharing knowledge. Whilst I admit I do struggle to boast about me, I do encouraging learning, collaboration, responsibility and ownership in all work.
