Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities included:• Being the prime liaison engineer and project manager with UK MoD on various support activities for Royal Navy Training Aircraft and Royal Air Force Communications (Royal Squadron) aircraft.• Company project lead, liaising with customers, UK and international, including UK MoD and civil aviation regulatory authorities.• Review of project estimate/tender to fully determine and understand the relevant conditions, requirements, deliverables, risks and liabilities. Monitoring projects to ensure they remained within plan to meet milestones and quality criteria. Taking necessary actions as required to correct any variance. Fully steering the project from concept to successful completion, managing the clients requirements with the company’s objectives.• Continuous liaison with clients, reporting directly to Wing Commander level at RAF and to Engineering directorate within BAES.• Motivating and supervising team members, workloads and technical output across functions and other company sites.• Production of, and technical supervision of, detail and assembly drawings for manufacturing and visualisation to civil and military standards.• Communication of all necessary information including timescales, contract conditions, specifications, drawings and technical information for execution of tasks and projects.• Airframe repair design to meet urgent ‘aircraft on ground’ requirements
