Hi, I'm John.I was lucky enough to find my passions very early in my career. As a Resident Advisor at Northeastern University, I learned the impact that strong university administrators can have on student experiences and success. I caught the "Higher Education bug" back in 2009 and have continued to make education my academic, professional, and personal priority. I enjoy honing my skills in student wellness support, emergency response, residence life and housing operations, along with supervision and overall campus culture education. Having worked in education, specifically education policy and student services, for my entire professional career, I understand the importance of showing up for students, and the need for diversity of representation in institutional administrative positions.In my free time, I devour news, trivia, tv and film, as I truly believe that pop culture can give us insights into what trends we can expect in the future and how we can connect more effectively as people. Spurred by my globetrotting Military upbringing and love of all things history, I also enjoy traveling to new environments that put me outside of my comfort zone, and use these travels as a way to first-hand educate myself on cultures in an effort to better understand the world we live in. Future academic ambitions include law school, where I hope to gain access to a skillset that has historically been denied to students with my background. I get excited at the thought of serving as a principal advisor to legislatures on policies, programs, and activities related to education; a liaison between the law, history, policy, and education. Professionally, I want to continue working for students, at institutions that highlight diversity, holistic wellness, and a focus on futuristic thinking.
