NSPA contract in Afghanistan.An onsite senior team member. Duties include :Supporting the in-theatre project manager and standing in for the project manager when he went on leave. Maintaining a good understanding of the contract at hand and adapting to deal with different stakeholders within the contract. Preparation of project bid submissions relating to one-off as well as on-going tasks. Providing commercial support to the Contract Management teams to identify and assist in the delivery of potential improvements in efficiency, profitability and cash flow -including oversight of invoicing. Having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the service and contract delivery requirements and specifications. Presentation of business cases to management at internal reviews and at bid approval meetings when required. Ensuring that the proposals meet all KBR's internal requirements, including the production of all necessary paperwork. Co-ordination with the UK based Commercial Team and other KBR Departments including Law, Treasury, Tax, Project Controls, Procurement etc.Establishing a sound working relationship with the client management and administration personnel. Being the first client point of contact for in-theatre commercial issues. I also created, developed and implemented New Works and Materials Tracking systems in MS Access.

I was approached by the company to join the Northern Facilities Management Department as a Facilities Management Consultant Engineer. Since having previously worked in an FM environment, the skills and experience I gained were easily transferrable to this job to help me carry out my expected duties. My duties and responsibilities included: Facilities management compliance audits, Asset registers,Forward maintenance registers,Assisting the clients with any worries or issues they may have had.

MOD contract in Iraq.This job consisted of:Starting off in control of project works as part of the project team on an MOD site in Iraq controlling subcontractors on several project installations (new works) for the military and then being invited to stay on as an Asset Manager. I was then asked to take over the Commercial Manager’s position. The work I did at Turner FM was varied and covered a wide range of challenges which gave me many opportunities to grow in my career including:Firstly within project works, I was covering controlling the subcontractors on ground work right through to test and commission of the final build. Secondly as an asset manager, I collated and monitored the progress of all assets on the site.Finally as a commercial manager, I was producing tender enquiries and reports, month end reports etc. With this role the environment was sometimes just as challenging, if not more, as the varied work challenges. The varied roles gave me the chance to showcase to my employer the numerous skills and abilities I had to offer the company.
