As lead client solutions specialist, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Operations Solutions team, within Mayo Clinic’s Mayo Laboratory Inquiry business unit. This involves ensuring the accuracy of staff scheduling, timekeeping, training, as well as the overall management of the team during the day. Additionally, I am also involved in staff coaching and mentoring as well as process improvement projects for the department as a whole. The Operations Solutions team is responsible for providing ‘white glove’ service for some of our most important business partnerships, and maintaining that level of service is paramount to my role.

As a regional service representative, my job was to provide support to Mayo Clinic Laboratories clients within the continental US. This support included, but was not limited to – sales, logistics/courier support, new product launches and implementations, data analysis, and providing expertise when needed. Additionally, the accounts I managed varied greatly in size and revenue generation, ranging from large, multi-site healthcare systems, to small clinics and doctor’s offices.

As a medical technologist, I provide accurate and timely laboratory test results to physicians in order to aid in guiding patient treatments. Additionally, inventory reconciliation, standard operating procedure/equipment maintenance, collaborating with multiple hospital departments, and maintaining a laboratory quality program also fell under my responsibility. Additionally, during my time working in the Human Cellular Therapy Laboratory, I had the opportunity to work with CAR-T products.

This was a PRN medical technologist position that I took in addition to working as a full time medical technologist. As such, many of my duties and responsibilities were the same. However, this position afforded me the opportunity to learn and work in several new types of clinical laboratories, including microbiology and the blood bank.

During my time as a building manager, my duties included leading teams of 3-12 individuals through event management, while also serving as a liaison between our clients and university executive management. I was also tasked with maintaining event spaces in working order, including a 300-seat auditorium, an outdoor amphitheater, and several smaller business/meeting rooms.
