Adjunct professor teaching classes in the College of Natural Resources and Life Sciences. I focus primarily on classes in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, natural resources, and biology.

Meet quarterly with action committees to develop specialized Extension programming. Direct and coordinate pesticide safety education and training for licensed applicators.Develop agriculture based educational programming that is centered on the interest of the county.Write bimonthly educational newsletters to keep the public informed on current extension programs and agricultural issues.Participate in professional development programs and attend professional society meetings.Collaborate with universities and local residents to conduct research that will advance the missions and goals of Texas A&M AgriLife. Educate youth on entomology through the Fort Bend County Entomology Club and 4-H. Represent the Texas A&M AgriLife agency via interviews, public meetings, and wearing AgriLife branded apparel.

Develop plans to control weed and insect pests causing damage to commercial landscape properties. Apply pesticides to control weeds and insects on commercial landscape properties in accordance to Texas Department of Agriculture guidelines. Arrange and install ornamental plants to enhance the visual appearance of commercial landscape properties. Mow, trim, and edge lawns on commercial landscape properties. Maintain proper pesticide application records.

Treat homes, apartment complexes, restaurants, churches, and other professional establishments for insects, arachnids, rodents, and reptile pests.Seal exclusions in public and private establishments to prevent pests from entering homes.Sell one time and contracted pest control treatments.Establish positive and supportive relationships with customers and team members.Manage cash receipts and chemical budget.Train new employees on standard occupational procedures and practices and educate them on pesticide law and safety.

Scout crop fields on Stiles Farm Foundation to ensure the health of crops and success of Texas A&M research at Stiles Farm Foundation.Oversee and identify any issues with corn and cotton seed treatment trials conducted at Stiles Farm Foundation and in the greater Texas Blacklands area.Collect and manage data from seed treatment trials conducted in the Texas Blacklands area.Write publications on current pest issues in the Texas Blacklands.Assist extension colleagues in entomological research conducted by Texas A & M University.

Conduct live virtual classroom lectures covering chapters from Evolution 2nd edition by Carl T. Bergstrom and Lee Alan Dugatkin. Create and assign classwork assignments for junior and senior level college students enrolled in Evolution at Texas A & M University-Central Texas. Create exams to test student knowledge of subject material and provide feedback on knowledge tested. Host consistent office hours to assist students with issues they may have had in understanding the material covered in lectures.

Develop test questions to evaluate students' knowledge of subject matter covered in Insects & Human Society.Evaluate exams and essays testing students competency on the assigned material. Provide short lectures on current events involving insects and the presence of insects in popular media.

Assist Dr. Thomas Kuhar on his research involving vegetable variety trials, pesticide trials, and data collection. Treat sweet corn varieties with pyrethroid or chlorantraniliprole, and evaluate their ability to control Lepidoptera pests. Monitor and record data on the population of ladybeetles, honey bees, bumble bees, and solitary bee species in insecticide-treated sweet corn fields post application. Conduct an experiment where honey bee nucleus colonies were trained to go to feeders, one of which was filled with non-contaminated sugar water while the other was filled with insecticide contaminated sugar water. Each hive was monitored by using GoPro(TM) cameras. Behavioral observations were recorded.Analyze and interpret all data collected on programs I assisted with during the 2017 summer research season.

Assist with Extension pesticide safety education and integrated pest management via pesticide assessment projects. Review literature for Extension publications. Assist in the planning of pesticide safety professional development workshops.

Evaluated semiochemicals attractants in the field for brown marmorated stink bug.Set up pyramid and sticky card traps as a means to monitor brown marmorated stink bug populations by attracting, catching, and trapping them. Record population numbers of BMSB onto data sheets and enter data into Microsoft Excel.

Make samples for polymerase chain reaction. Plant, manage, and monitor alfalfa and chickpea production at Prosser and Pullman, Washington State University research station for the means of preserving plant germplasm. Evaluate alfalfa seed for germination, seed quality, and insect pest damage.

Plant, manage, and monitor greenhouse-grown sweet potatoes, tomatoes, leafy greens, and sweet corn. Make suggestions on organic integrated pest management strategies to control white fly and fungi populations in the greenhouse.Build and set up a raised bed for the community of Petersburg VA. Build and repair high tunnels. Keep the greenhouse clean and sanitized frequently.
