1979 -1997Experienced Draughtsman /Production ManagerAs a 16 year old I had no option but to accept the tough transition from the world of football training and trials to a successful career in granite manufacturing. Somehow I forged a path marked by determination, ambition and a commitment to excellence. In my last years at School and leaving, I was selected for trials at renowned clubs such as Dundee FC, managed by the Legend Celtic FC player Tommy Gemmell, Aberdeen FC under the greatest manager ever , Sir Alex Ferguson and at Nottingham Forest FC under the esteemed Brian Clough- immersed in the teachings of these Football Gods I could not fail to be guided by their sheer determination and passion..I started as a Draughtsman for John Fyfe Ltd a granite manufacturing company in 1979, promoted to production manager and successfully integrated 4 granite companies under one company which became the largest manufacturer of natural stone in Europe at that time. I had 95 employees under my control as Production Manager. I became known for my ability to optimize operations and accepted responsibility and added roles such as Health and Safety Manager, Technical Drawing Team Manager and Engineering Team Manager. 1997 to infinityExperienced Managing DirectorIn 1997, I seized the opportunity to embark on a new venture as Managing Director of Bon Accord Granite Ltd, a dynamic start-up poised to disrupt the established Granite Industry. Fuelled by a passion for natural stone and a vision for innovation I introduced our company into the mysterious Wild World Web in 1997. Leading the company in supplying premium grade stone to the Construction sector. Spearheading strategic initiatives to establish a foothold in the market, leveraging my extensive experience in granite manufacturing to deliver unparalleled quality and service. Cultivated strong relationship with clients and Stakeholder, positioning the company as a trusted partner in construction projects of all scales. Still today sourcing the finest natural stone with a secure supply chain ensuring the company remains at the forefront of our industry. Now it is our family owned Business.2017-2021Innovation InvestorAn investor in Softcell Medical in 2017 and joining the board as Executive Director was a commitment taken despite challenging family health issues. Through resilience and determination a first working prototype Ph monitoring system of tablet and a calibrated canula was produced.
