The fundamentals of my character I am most proud of were developed working as a Geologist and Geographic Information Systems Geologist for small exploration companies. 3 weeks in one week out and during my time out working in the office. It is that level of commitment, living and breathing a project, which has allowed me to develop and succeed. My education is concentrated in the areas of Biology and Geology. I started out in an environmental monitoring role with Environment Canada. Following that, my life revolved around Geology until my current position with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. As a Project Officer with the Uranium Mines and Mills Division, I lead a project team through the review of programs designed to meet 14 areas including: environmental protection, health and safety, design, operating performance and management systems to name a few. The results of this review are then presented on the record, by the project team, to a 7 member commission during a public hearing. I lead regular inspections of mines and mills to ensure effective implementation of approved programs. As I build experience, I continue to take on more and more responsibility. I am a very active person, I have ran triathlons in the past and commute often by bike to and from work. I have a loving wife, a 5 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. I love children, mine have reinforced my understanding of patience and made me more mentally resilient then I have ever been. I am always looking for new challenges and can't wait to see what is next.
