CurrentA director of Boffa Miskell between 1990 and 2016, John was chairman of the board for 9.5 years and a Partner up until April 2022. John continues to work as a consultant in Boffa Miskell and has over 35 years’ professional experience as a landscape architect. He has worked on a wide variety of master planning, urban design and environmental and land use planning projects throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific region. He is frequently sought for complex multi-disciplinary projects, often at a strategic and concept stage and has managed a number of landscape lead projects from master planning to delivery. John also specialises in evaluating landscape, natural charcacter and visual effects and advising on site and route selection for a range of infrastructure, energy and utility projects, providing integrated design solutions and mitigation strategies in both urban and rural locations. John provides technical advice and assistance with regional and district planning and in obtaining resource consents. John is also an experienced and recognised expert witness, presenting evidence before council, the Environment Court and Board of Inquiry hearings.He is currently working for a range of clients including government agencies, regional and district councils, infrastructure, energy and utilitiy companies, trusts and private sector clients.
