Worked in Australian Army Headquarters as a member of the ABCANZ (America, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) programme. Responsible for developing a common understanding of current and future doctrine, operational capabilities and emerging technologies, with the primary purpose of furnishing information to New Zealand Army Headquarters.

Worked in the Headquarters of Joint Forces of New Zealand and was responsible for the long term planning of land based military operations. Required to integrate strategic guidance and policy into relevant planning procedures, in order to produce operational documentation for approval by senior NZ Defence Force leadership.

Worked in the Office of Strategy and Governance primarily responsible for the development of long term strategic and annual plans for the NZ Defence Force. Provided input into the development of organizational performance measures and coordinated the alignment of separate portfolio strategies

Commanded a New Zealand Army artillery unit, responsible for developing and implementing a collective training package within a Brigade environment. Required to exercise sound leadership and demonstrate the ethos and values of the New Zealand Army, by managing the performance of junior leaders and providing mentorship where appropriate. Prepared, planned for, and coordinated the deployment of personnel in support of military operations both overseas and domestically.
