Working on NASA's Deep Space Network contract processing realtime telemetry from various deep-space probes such as Voyager, JUNO, Cassini, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the two Mars Exploration Rovers, and the Mars Science Laboratory, among others. In all the contract handles command, tracking, and telemetry data for about 70 active ESA, JAXA, NASA, and ISRO spacecraft in various stages of their missions.Specialties: I'm most proficient in software/programming, but also have EE skills. Work daily with Perl and mysql on SunOS systems developing and maintaining WAN-scale monitor and control applications. Have programmed in C, Perl, some php, XML, SOAP, very little java. Some linux & MacOS X admin experience. Familiarity with microcontrollers - mostly AVR and Arduino - in embedded applications. Practical photovoltaic solar power experience from a grid-interactive, battery-backed, 4kw residential system at home.
