OverviewAn Industrial Engineer with an MBA, I have over thirty years of experience in a variety of staff and heavy industrial settings. Now retired from Weyerhaeuser since 2009 I am continuing to seek temporary and/or part time assignments that would benefit from my knowledge, skills and experience. The bulk of my background is connected with the management and resolution of environmental liabilities. I also have direct operational experience with primary metals (aluminum), metal machining/fabrication and the environmental concerns (sediment focus) of public ports.Skills/Experience Project ManagementAs team leader for Weyerhaeuser’s environmental remediation program I oversaw a slate of 60 to 70 active environmental projects and with a team of 2 or 3 additional Project Managers and an annual budget of $8 to $15 million. Environmental Law Usually with the support of legal and technical resources, I have managed to completion projects subject to a variety of Federal and State, and regional regulatory frameworks. Negotiation of Consulting Contracts and Consent Decrees/Agreed OrdersLegal agreements can be complex and filled with important key words and phrases. I have over 20 years of experience building such agreements. Regulatory LiaisonImportant to the efficient management of environmental projects is the establishment of an effective working relationship with the responsible regulator or regulatory team. Litigation Support Litigation associated with environmental liabilities is similar in many respects to the skills required to establish agreements presented previously. Contingent Liability Forecasting I have extensive experience under the former system and enough training under the new liability forecasting requirements to provide guidance and support to clients.Environmental Compliance AuditFor more than 10 years, as part of my broader EH&S responsibilities I was part of a team that audited manufacturing and support operations.
