Manager, Contracted Transit Services
CurrentManage workgroup that fulfills a variety of responsibilities related to Metropolitan Council’s contracted transit operations and regional transit service oversight. Services provided under contract include fixed routes, region-wide general public dial-a-ride, and commuter vanpools with a total budget of approximately $30M. The primary responsibility of the work group is to procure various services and ensure vendors deliver those services effectively and efficiently according to contract terms. Additionally, the group implements program initiatives that require coordination with various departments within Metro Transit, the Council’s direct operations division, other Council divisions, vendors, and other regional partners. Specific responsibilities of the position include direct supervision of a work group of four, including mentoring, monitoring work performance, and evaluating each group member.• Implementing and ensuring ongoing operation of various technology systems including security cameras, TransitMaster AVL, fare collection, and onboard mobile gateway.• Development of service RFPs and completion of procurements in close cooperation with Procurement department. • Development of annual budget in collaboration with administration work group and ensuring adherence to that budget.Primary contracted services contact for many Metro Transit staff including Service Development and Revenue & Ridership departments. Maintain strong relationship with my staff, others within the department and with managers and staff of other departments within the agency.
