IntroductionIn June 2024 I finished my career with EY after 38 great years (28 in EY in Ireland and 10 years in EY in London). I was a partner for 23 years where I led a great team of Corporate Finance and Transaction professionals. I have spent my career working with great clients and EY teams advising and support clients in the following areas:• Advising senior management teams on transactions (both buy and sell side)• All aspects of due diligence to test a business’ current state and prospects • Complex relationship management between executives, board directors and shareholders• Working in complex projects requiring significant co-ordination of client and advisors • Supporting and coaching of CEO’s, CFO’s in M&A transactions• Summarising complex situations with suggested solutions and next steps• Achieving agreement between parties where it is not obvious • Projects included funding, risk management, succession planning and dispute resolution• Business risk and governance including the development of risk registers• Senior client advisory partner for many of EY’s key clients.I was Managing Partner for EY’s regional practice which included offices in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford for 20 years. This regional practice doubled in size over my final five years at EY. I was also a member of the EY Ireland's Leadership team for most of my years as a partner. My career now I am now available for business consulting and/or non-executive roles. As an experienced business leader I am excited about the opportunity to support management teams develop and deliver the strategic vision for their organisation. I have extensive board and senior management experience, proven financial acumen, leadership skills, and expertise in governance and risk management. I have a deep network of business relationships developed over a long career. Integrity and independence are the hallmarks of my career to date, and I will bring these qualities to a consulting non-executive director role. Also, I have invested and continue to invest considerable time in continuous learning and personal development to ensure I am stay current on key developments in corporate finance, governance, risk and technology. I am currently completing the Institute of Directors Chartered Director qualification.
