Promoted to Chair as of September 2024. Appointment term is three years. Currently serving as lead reviewer for at least one study per month and chairing both monthly IRB committee meetings (#1 and #2). Working knowledge of 2018 Common Rule, FDA IRB regulations, good clinical practice guidelines, financial conflicts of interest, conflicts of commitment, and research misconduct. Served as Vice-Chair from Sep 2019 to Aug 2024. Member since Sep 2010.

Experience teaching a wide range of philosophy courses for the college. Wrote and published A Brief Introduction to Metaethics for Applied Ethics, 2nd Ed. Kendall Hunt Publishing, 2022. Received two faculty development grants to build two different online philosophy courses. Currently teaching multiple sections of PHL 205 - Biomedical Ethics and PHL 202 - Ethics throughout the academic year.

• Summer 2024 Project: Worked collaboratively with the WGU instructional design team and the assessment team to develop course content and assessments for a new ethics in technology course. Helped finalize scope and sequence document and write course content outlines for all sections of the course. Developed assessments aligned with the course competencies and grading rubrics. • March 2024 Project: Reviewed newly developed test bank items for existing ethics course to determine whether the items were aligned with the course’s content. Provided actionable feedback on items with insufficient alignment.

Co-created and co-offered various leadership and ethics trainings for healthcare professionals and providers across the health system to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Maintained, disseminated, and updated system-wide ethics policies for the health system. Offered regular EPIC training for ethics committee members. Served on the IRB.

Started as Director, Ethics in 2008. The position was converted to Director, Mission and Ethics in 2012. Managed mission and ethics services operations and programming in Oregon which included leadership formation training, healthcare ethics consultation teams, ethics committees, and various mission programs. Led the ethics consult service. Prepared and managed annual department budget. Consulted on federal and state regulatory issues for the leadership team. Received LEAN process improvement training as part of the executive team administrative functions. Served on the organization’s system-wide IRB.
