I was brought on board with KForce to fill a position at AEP in their IT Telecommunications department. I was told that they had been looking for someone for a few months and that my expertise was perfect for the position. This is due in part as they had combined there IT and Telecommunication Radio departments. This required a special skill set. This was exciting as it combined all my career experience into one place. I was told that they had been looking for someone for a few months and that my expertise was perfect for the position. This is due in part as they had combined there IT and Telecommunication Radio departments. This required a special skill set. This was exciting as it combined all my career experience into one place. Since working at AEP I helped organize the installation of mobile data radios as well as upgrade all the towers to a new 800 Mhz radio system from Harris. This was an exciting project due to the rarity of these systems being upgraded. After the project I moved to a new facility. I was trained on the Cook Nuclear siren system and helped to manage issues as well as upgrades. Currently I am at Cook Nuclear making preparations for unit 1 shutdown. While the reactor is shutdown many upgrades will be taking place that I will be assisting.Helped organize the installation of mobile data radios as well as upgrade all the towers to a new 800 MHz radio system from Harris. This system included single and multi-mode fiber, DBS, Cisco, Alcatel, and many other types of networking equipment that provided triple play services. My job was to maintain the systems and troubleshoot them when it was needed.
