Responsibilities: • Master a shift turnover process to ensure a seamless transfer of information to the oncoming shift. • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints, earning trust among cohorts and direct reports, and resolving team conflict situations. • Control all evolutions throughout the plant. • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all plant operation activities by operating plant equipment through established valve line-ups and system/component operating procedures. • Monitor water chemistry parameters in support of make-up water production, cooling water circulation and ASME guidelines for maintaining boiler and feed water within specification. • Heighten safety awareness through job pre-briefs as the standard. • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. Recommend operating and/or maintenance changes that will enhance plant performance and availability. • Coordinate work activities of vendor and/or subcontractor personnel when required. • Perform other tasks as assigned Requirements: • High school diploma, or GED equivalent • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate the Plant from the control room, as well as the ability to analyze complex problems under the pressure of emergency conditions. • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively. Summary & Responsibilities:Dominion Generation is seeking qualified applicants for Maintenance Operator positions at Brunswick County Power Station.The Brunswick County Power Station is a new gas fired combined cycle power station in Brunswick County, VA with a net generating capacity of approximately 1,350 Megawatts. The Brunswick County site is located between Lawrenceville and Emporia, Virginia on US 58. This facility is currently under construction and expected to begin commercial operations in the summer of 2016, however we are looking to fill these positions within the next several months.As a Maintenance Operator, you will be required to operate and maintain power station equipment.This includes:1) Inspecting, operating and monitoring equipment used in the production of electricity;2) Performing daily routine operations;3) Isolating/tagging equipment for maintenance;4) Valve operations;5) Making entries into computer-based logbooks;6) Performing maintenance on major industrial equipment such as pumps, turbines, and power station mechanical equipment;7) Performing maintenance on batteries, motors, switchgear, motor operated valves, and other power station electrical equipment.Journeyman craftsman experience preferredThis position requires good physical ability and agility. The job requires an incumbent, 75% of the time, to stand, sit, walk, carry, bend, crawl, reach, squat, and climb to include: ladders, poles, and stairs. Requires ability to push/pull with arms, legs, and body.
