I left Exxon to take a role as Engineering Manager at Bay-Tec Engineering and ultimately orchestrated a buy out of the original ownership within a couple of years. At that point, I became President/CEO and we grew the company within 5-6 years by about 500% and opened new offices in Southern California and Oregon. Bay-Tec was a full design/build Control Systems Integrator serving west coast customers in Life Science, Refining, and other major process industries. We also were part of the creation of a solar company spun off prior to the sale to Emerson.

I had a 13 year career with Exxon in various divisions. Initially with Exxon Chemical as an I/E Engineer, Major Project Manager, and Process Unit Coordinator, then transferring to ER&E as a Consultant Engineer and the Startup Leader for the Sriracha Thailand Refinery Project. I moved from here to the Refining Division, as a Mechanical Manager for the Benicia Refinery (now Valero). In this role, I led the instrumentation, electrical, analyzer and new construction groups, as well as a few major projects and all process unit turnaround activities related to these groups. I left Exxon in 2000 to take a great entrepreneurial position with Bay-Tec Engineering.
