As I transitioned from Ontario to British Columbia in 2014, my curiosity led me to delve into the wine industry, exploring the intricacies of viticulture, viniculture, and sales and marketing. This journey began in 2015 at a small family-run winery, where I immersed myself in managing vineyards while assisting with wine-making and sales. I spent 4 more years at Okanagan Crush Pad (now Haywire) finishing a rewarding eight-year tenure marked by dedication and resilience through challenges, including the impacts of Covid and a personal setback with a torn Achilles tendon. This period of reflection amidst the vines prompted a reevaluation of my career aspirations, reigniting a long-standing interest in employment counselling—a path I had considered back in 2001. In 2022, I embraced this calling, leveraging my extensive 36 years of experience in people, program, and project management across diverse fields such as Youth Work, Adult Training, Marketing, Communications, and the Wine Industry. My career is characterized by a steadfast commitment to coaching individuals and devising solutions, especially during uncertain times. A lifelong practitioner of networking and resource utilization, I have navigated my career development and job search with success, now focusing on empowering others in their employment journeys. My transition into employment services with WorkBC as a Facilitator is a testament to my passion for making a meaningful impact in people’s lives, guiding them toward realizing their career potential.
