My duties and responsibilities as a research scientist at KIRDI include:1. Formulation and implementation of multi-disciplinary research projects with industrial partners, research/educational institutions and international organizations.2. Cordination of various engineering project activities ranging from design, prototyping, preparation of bill of materials, identification of suppliers, quality inspection and monitoring.3. Preparation of technical reports and publications for research and relevant projects.4. Engagement with donors/partners for resource mobilization, monitoring, evaluation and review of funds/project activities.5. Transfer of research technology by training of small and medium enterprises, industrial partners and interns/attachees.6. Maintaining safe/healthy working space by ensuring continuous inspection/service/maintenance of plant/machinery, regular training of technical team and implementing statutory occupational safety & health processes. 7. Participating in activities that promote local/regional industrial trade such as membership in KEBS technical committees for development of national standards, involvement in exhibitions and symposiums/conferences.

My roles at Heritage Insurance entailed:1. Site visits to undertake general risk assessments/surveys in commercial, industrial and manufacturing business establishments. 2. Conducting thorough plant/machinery inspections/assessments for clients’ premises.3. Development of comprehensive reports with condition of assets, loss estimate analysis and risk improvement recommendations.4. Advising client on-site on what to implement in-order to prevent or minimize risk exposure.5. Making follow-up on recommendations issued to clients to ensure they are implemented.6. Liaising with external risk surveyors and other industrial players to drive growth and development of the insurance industry.

As a technical sales engineer I was the coordinator of the fireball division handling the following responsibilities:1. Making of presentation on company's fire and security products to clients2. Implementation of Total Productive Maintenance systems at various production facilities in conjunction with equipment maintenance engineers and technicians2. Following of routine and preventative maintenance checklists for powder detergent and foods production lines ensuring remedial measures and recommendations are undertaken3. Carrying out of preventive and corrective maintenance on foods and powder detergent production lines.
