Here at SMU, I am a part of the MsF program. I also completed my undergraduate studies at SMU in finance and computer science. As an undergrad, I was selected to the Alternative Assets Management Honors Program, where students perform weekly cases geared towards preparing us for jobs in investment banking and private equity. The cases including building M&A models, DCFs, and LBOs. I performed very well on the excel models, earning a perfect score on the modeling test we took at the end of the year in which we had one hour and twenty minutes to build an LBO given limited assumptions. The program is highly selective, taking only the best finance students at SMU. Among the best of the best at SMU, I still performed very well earning an A in the class, and one of the very few perfect scores on the modeling test. This past summer, I interned for Morrison Seger, a Venture Capital firm based in Dallas. During my internship, I got to build financial models to help the team make investment decisions. I also learned how to look at models as a tool to use for investment decisions, rather than simply as an end goal or assignment.
