In 2022, I completed a master's degree in health sciences from the University of the Ryukyus. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) which I obtained from the University of Malawi, College of Medicine. I have worked at Mzuzu Central Hospital for the Ministry of Health for more than ten years. I have developed expertise in the areas of molecular biology, clinical chemistry, haematology, blood banking, and molecular biology during the course of my employment. I am currently working with viral load and DNA samples for newborn HIV detection.I served as the secretary for the Reproductive Health (RH) and Infection Prevention teams while employed at Mzuzu Central Hospital (IP). I am happy to mention that I was a member of the team that helped Mzuzu Central Hospital become the first facility in Malawi to receive a shield for reproductive health services. I have also taken part in other health surveys, including the Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS), for which I served as team leader, the Onchocerciasis study, and the Food Security and Sustainability survey, to name a few. I have also taken part in a lot of workshops for my professional development. Additionally, I am a member of the "Global Health Network," an online health community, and I take their short and modular courses there. I have also worked for Partners in Hope (PIH) as the program coordinator for HIV Testing and Linkage Services) a PEPFAR-funded project for Optimizing HIV Services for Epidemic Control (OHSEC) in 8 districts (Lilongwe, Dowa, Kasungu, Nkhotakota, Karonga, Chitipa, Chikwawa, and Nsanje. Through the application of evidence-based, cost-effective, and innovative interventions to increase HIV/TB case finding, linkage to HIV/TB treatment and viral load suppression among PLHIV, OHSEC's main objective was to reduce HIV incidence and HIV-related morbidity and mortality as well as to accelerate progress toward HIV epidemic control in Malawi.
