I am a partner at Burr & Forman, where I serve as the Co-Chairman of the Transportation and Maritime Practice Group. My work involves representing maritime businesses -- vessel owners and operators, marinas, manufacturers, shipyards, P & I Clubs as well as Hull and Machinery Underwriters -- and assisting my clients with the myriad legal issues which arise in their various endeavors. Being proactive and offering creative, cost-effective solutions is paramount in my practice.Having multiple long-term relationships with clients, developed over the course of a twenty-plus year career, speaks to my ability to deliver value-added solutions. Perhaps I'm most pleased by the responses given by clients when contacted by Chambers, an international legal profiling firm. The positive feedback has earned me a "Tier Two" ranking for Transportation Litigation - Outside of New York. I am the only attorney in Alabama, and only one of a handful on the US Gulf, to have garnered this ranking.I believe clients appreciate the fact that I genuinely want to learn about their business; what do they do, how do they do it, what can I do to help them succeed further? This interest makes it easier for me to make sure we work from the same page, and that the "end game" in any project, lawsuit, negotiation, etc., is clear with effort focused on getting there efficiently.Outside of the practice of law, I enjoy running, reading and traveling with my wife Elizabeth.
