Lead system engineer on a large class 2 medical device development project (100+ team members). Managing team of 5 system engineers. Responsible for developing system architecture, performing hazard analysis, developing requirements, managing compliance to IEC 60601 standards, and coordinating development activities of cross-discipline engineering teams. Worked with clinical and marketing groups to ensure that the device will meet the user needs.

Responsible for Android-based user interface development. Coordinating activities of UI designers, software developers and electrical engineers. Developed prototype UI using Java/Android SDK.

Lead Control Systems Engineer, Medical Device--Developed algorithms for novel micro-liter scale volume sensor and pumping system. Participated in the system architecture and design, developed embedded code for control system, performed system FMEA, developed system and subsystem-level requirements. Several patents pending.

Lead Systems Engineer, DARPA Prosthetic Arm Project. Led a team of engineers during the early concept and architecture phase of an upper limb prosthetic. Responsible for overall system architecture, performed analysis of design trade-offs (torque, weight, battery capacity, etc), developed high level requirements and devised the technical development path.

Lead Control System Engineer, IBOT transporter—Led team of five controls engineers developing control algorithms for two generations of IBOT mobility devices. Responsible for control systems from concept through verification and submission to the FDA. Developed software development process and FMEA process and produced release quality C++ code. Inventor on eight patents relating to balancing mobility devices.

Design Engineer, Stirling Engines—Responsible for system modeling and design for a ½ Hp Stirling Cycle Engine. Analyzed thermodynamic cycle and heat transfer, designed heat exchangers, and tested several engine prototypes.
